Owl Cover-up

The first time Emily came to the tattoo shop was for a consult and to set-up an appointment.  Her original idea was to make her tree tattoo bigger and better. She came back a few weeks later and after drawing on her for over an hour; there was no way to make her idea work.  After some discussion we decided to do a complete cover-up with an owl. Emily is one tough client! We knocked this out in three sessions. Thank you Emily for being open minded and trusting the process.

Purple Octopus

This octopus my client Allison wanted goes with the nautical theme of all of her other tattoos. She sat for a solid five hours for this and didn't budge. Thanks Allison! It was a fun piece to work on today.

Paint Louis

I just wrapped up the weekend in St. Louis. I was invited to leave my mark on the Riverfront Wall with hundreds of artist from all over the country. This wall stretches 4 miles along the riverfront in St Louis and is painted by numerous graffiti artist and crews. I managed to get my outline up and some other paint on the wall Friday. Saturday we were rained out and flood warnings kept everyone from being able to continue to paint. Lucky the weather cooperated on Sunday and I manged to finish up. This is a photo of the finished piece that took around 7 hours. If you're interested in seeing some of the other art checkout http://instagram.com/# hashtag paintlouis.

Street Art

After a day of tattooing I headed down the West Bottoms to finish up another art project. My friend Todd Hueystyles and I have been working on this mural at Black Label Cycles. I'm gearing up and heading to St. Louis at the end of the month and ready for the Paint Louis graffiti jam!

Finishing Up the Day With Black and Grey~Another Cover-Up

Huy wanted to get rid of his old red kanji tattoo. I drew a flower on by hand and here's the end result.
He decided to stick with the black and grey theme over adding color.

From Dave Matthews to Guns and Roses

There is a first time for everything. No it wasn't my first cover-up tattoo, but it was Katy's first time getting a tattoo from me. She's still a fan of Dave Matthews but she wanted this 12 year old tattoo covered up. She sat like a champ for four solid hours while getting these roses. We'll have one more session to get it finished. No guns...yet. Maybe next time . Thank you to her husband Cory for bringing Katy in today.

Dr Dave Duly

We're ready to kick off summer with a bang!

There are lots of new things going on here at the studio. One is the addition of Dr Dave Duly. You can feel extra safe coming in now that there is a doctor in the house. All kidding aside...
Dave is one cool, laid back dude! He has a passion for music and is a bad ass bassist guitar player and sings vocals with the band Cadillac Flambe' . The band travels all over the country but you can find them on a regular at the Phoenix KC . Dave is super stoked to be back at tattooing now that his travel schedule is allowing him more time to kick it in KC.

Stay tuned for updates about the open house here at the studio this summer and up and coming shows and art exhibits.
